Job Description

AngloGold Ashanti, through Geita Gold Mining Ltd, is inviting applications for the position of Graduate Engineer – UG Mine Planning within the Technical Service Department. This is a full-time graduate-development opportunity based at Geita Gold Mine.

The successful candidate will participate in a structured three-year development programme involving technical training, practical mine exposure, task rotations, fieldwork, data analysis, planning support, and progressive professional development. The programme is designed to build competence across predetermined underground mine-planning work areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in technical training and development programmes.
  • Build an understanding of mining processes, safety protocols, and relevant regulations.
  • Collect and analyse mining data, including production metrics, ore quality, and equipment performance.
  • Help prepare regular technical reports for senior engineers and management.
  • Participate in fieldwork and mine-site visits.
  • Support the development of mine layouts, stope plans, and mining schedules.
  • Assist with inspections and the identification of safety-improvement opportunities.
  • Support geotechnical assessments relating to ground stability and potential hazards.
  • Gain practical exposure to mining-equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams on equipment reliability and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with technical reports, project plans, and progress updates.
  • Prepare accurate and timely process-performance data.
  • Support the delivery of the Life of Mine Plan.
  • Build constructive working relationships with colleagues, business partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment and comply with applicable safety systems.
  • Stop and report work found to be taking place in an unsafe manner.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Mining Engineering or a relevant discipline.
  • At least one year of experience acquired through practical training.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
