Hydropower Engineer at KEDS Tanzania Company Limited

The successful candidate will assist the Infrastructure Engineering Manager in planning, supervising and delivering hydropower engineering projects. The role involves overseeing hydropower installation and construction activities, monitoring project progress, quality and safety, managing contractor performance, and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Management: Assist the Infrastructure Engineering Manager in overseeing hydropower engineering projects.
• Construction Scheduling: Lead preparation and review of project schedules and monitor overall, annual, monthly and weekly construction plans.
• Project Planning: Coordinate preparation and review of hydropower sections of new project plans, while monitoring implementation.
• Engineering Supervision: Monitor construction progress, engineering quality, workplace safety and site standardization.
• Inspections and Performance: Organize regular project inspections, evaluations and performance assessments.
• Contractor Management: Assess contractor and supplier contract execution and assist in resolving major hydropower-related contractual disputes.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Maintain effective communication with contractors, suppliers, consultants, regulatory authorities and internal teams.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in hydropower installation, engineering or construction project management.
• Experience in project planning, installation supervision, construction management and coordination.
• Intermediate Engineer professional title or higher is an added advantage.
• Level 1 Construction Engineer certification in Mechatronics is an added advantage.
• Experience with large-scale hydropower construction companies is preferred.
• Previous experience in hydropower installation and construction management for industrial factory projects is highly preferred.
