Key Responsibilities
As an Internal Auditor, you will:
- Conduct risk-based and planned audits in line with approved audit plans.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, governance structures, accounting systems, and operational processes.
- Assess compliance with Bank policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable industry standards.
- Participate in special audits, spot checks, investigations, and compliance reviews.
- Identify control weaknesses, operational risks, and root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports and supporting working papers.
- Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure timely implementation.
- Support audit planning, risk assessments, and audit execution through data analysis.
- Maintain proper audit documentation and adherence to audit methodologies.
- Assist the Chief Internal Auditor in strengthening the Bank's overall control environment.
Qualifications and Experience
To succeed in this role, applicants should have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field.
- CPA (T) or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Additional audit certifications will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of three (3) years' relevant audit experience, preferably within banking or financial services.
- Strong understanding of banking operations, risk management, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, report writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments with minimal supervision.
