About the role

Tamgo Tanzania seeks a results-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee accounting operations, strengthen financial controls and support business decisions. The position combines financial reporting, accounting-team supervision and stakeholder support.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise accounting operations and monitor the accounting team’s productivity and costs.
• Review daily journal entries and maintain accurate financial records.
• Review trial balances and manage month-end and year-end financial closing.
• Prepare financial reports and analysis, providing clear commentary for management.
• Support audits and annual financial statements; coordinate with internal and external auditors.
• Monitor customer credit files, credit limits and receivables ageing.
• Complete timely account reconciliations and resolve outstanding items.
• Respond to finance queries, liaise with banks and manage treasury activities.
• Strengthen internal controls and implement audit recommendations.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
• At least five years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
• Knowledge of accounting processes, taxation, accounting standards and tax laws.
• Excellent communication in English and Swahili.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, adaptability and focus on results.
